67 mountaineers scale Mt Annapurna this spring
As many as 67 mountaineers have successfully climbed Mt Annapurna during this spring.
The number of mountaineers has climbed to 67 after six Nepali women including journalist Purnima Shrestha scaled 8,091-meter tall Mt Annapurna located at Annapurna rural municipality-4, Narchyang on April 16.
The other climbers included Dawa Yangjum Sherpa, Pasang Lhamu Sherpa, Sharmila Shentan, and Dawabuti Sherpa. They were the first Nepali women to climb Mt Annapurna.
It had taken them six days to reach atop Mt Annapurna from the base camp, according to Pemba Sherpa, a team member.
